Biography

I deal with the relationship between the self and society, the naked body and the naked soul, the aging body and the aging soul.

Lives and works in Tel Aviv.

BA in Art – Beit Berl College, Ha-Midrasha School of Art
BA in Linguistics – The Hebrew University of Jerusalem

My parents were Holocaust survivors who raised me in the spirit of paternalism, which meant that my first mission in life was to marry and raise a family. My partner pursued a demanding career, and only years later, at the age of 50+, when the children had grown up and we were financially stable, I began my artistic journey as a self-taught stone sculptor. For 3 years I participated in stone symposia in Italy, Spain, Switzerland and Israel, creating monumental stone sculptures measuring 3 meters.

Two years later I enrolled in art school and started my life as a multidisciplinary artist in 2006. Painting is my foundation - whether oil on canvas or digital - and I transform these works into stories using virtual reality and augmented reality technologies, resulting in video works, 3D drawings, 360-degree video, and animation.

Since 2016 I have painted with Tilt Brush in VR, combined with AR. I find this particularly meaningful, as VR painting is inherently a digital-handmade process, bridging the classical and the technological.

I am drawn to the human attitude toward taboos and prejudices, and to local (Israeli/Jewish) history and conflicts that influence my life. Cliche or not, "The personal is political" - and it works.

As a perpetual student, I learn new technologies independently and create entirely on my own, without the assistance of professionals. Questions about artist-viewer relationships, display modes, and exhibition spaces lead me to create digital works available anywhere on the globe, without the need for physical storage.

I have presented in many group exhibitions in Israel and abroad, 9 solo shows, and participated in film festivals - the Jerusalem Film Festival, Kassel, Athens, Berlin, Granada, and more - receiving media coverage and reviews.
